New Mexico Elopement in the Mountains | New Mexico Elopement Photographer

Sam and Isaiah grew up in a tiny town in northern New Mexico. After just missing each other in highschool they developed their relationship that summer and completely hit it off. After 8 years of growing with each other they said “I Do” in Sam’s childhood backyard with their closest friends and family to witness it. This adventure in the mountains of New Mexico was the sweetest and absolutely beautiful.

Their Day

Sam and Isaiah chose to get married in the tiny hometown in northern New Mexico. One of my favorite parts of this New Mexico elopement was the scenery! I fully believe that New Mexico is an absolute hidden gem. In the northern part of the start is where the rocky mountains start so you can find gorgeous forests, lakes, creeks, and huge mountains. I couldn’t believe that Sam and Isaiah grew up there! They decided to have their ceremony in Sam’s family’s beautiful backyard that overlooks the mountains. It was one of the most gorgeous spots for a wedding, and it was even more special since it was their family’s land.

First Look & Private Vows

Sam and Isaiah chose to get married in the tiny hometown in northern New Mexico. One of my favorite parts of this New Mexico elopement was the These two are huge lovers and have such a deep relationship that is so beautiful. They really valued having intentional alone time on their wedding day. Before their ceremony they chose to have a private first look- with their pups there of course! Along with that, they shared personal vows. Exchanging personal vows away from other people and outside of a ceremony is always one of my favorite elements of elopements. It creates a safe space where you can say exactly what you want and respond with whatever emotions you feel. It was really sweet to see how Isaiah and Sam responded to each other’s vows. This was definitely one of my favorite parts of their day!

Their Ceremony

Their wedding ceremony took place in their beautiful backyard under a wedding arch that Sam’s father had made for them- how sweet and beautiful! It was the perfect touch for that beautiful location. One of their family friends officiated their ceremony and they participated in a unity ceremony by planting and watering a plant. It was such a gorgeous experience!

Their Adventure

After their ceremony Sam and Isaiah wanted to go on an adventure since they are both huge adventurers. This one another one of my favorite parts of this New Mexico elopement. We drove off into the mountains close to their house and explored around a beautiful creek. It was amazing to slow down for a bit and embrace the beautiful nature. We frolicked and danced in the fields until it was time for dinner with their friends and families.

Dinner under the Stars

Following our adventure in the mountains, Sam and Isaiah shared a dinner with their friends and family under the night stars. There was cake cutting, sweet toasts, and they got to share their first dance. One of my favorite parts about eloping is that you can choose to still have a reception. A reception doesn’t always mean tons of dancing and drinking. Instead it can be spent by the campfire, catching up with your friends and family. This was the perfect way to conclude their intimate New Mexico elopement!

All of the amazing vendors from this day:

Flowers: Stephanie Yardman

Cake & Desserts: Sugar Bomb Bake Shoppe

Event Rentals: Darling Details Rentals

Wedding Dress: Rue De Seine

Here are some sweet words from Sam and Isaiah about their time of having me as their photographer:

“Caitlyn was an absolute dream to work with! She was so responsive any time we had a question and went above & beyond our expectations. She helped us create a timeline for our wedding which made things so much easier when the day of our wedding came around. She was so professional when working with our vendors and working with our families. She rounded up everyone that needed to take photos with ease and made everything feel so effortless.

The photos she captured were absolute magic! Caitlyn captured every single moment that was important, as well as action shots of everyone throughout the reception. Our families were in awh looking through our gallery & that was exactly what I wanted from a wedding photographer.

We went on a mini adventure session that Caitlyn scouted for us and it was the most beautiful location & my favorite photos from our wedding.

I highly suggest working with Caitlyn, she is professional, helpful with any and everything you may have questions with and she is the absolute kindest soul! The photographer was the best investment we could of made for our wedding!”
