Last month my husband and I jumped on a plane to Hawaii to escape the dry desert for a week during my crazyyyyy wedding season! I had the amazing opportunity to meet up with a local photographer, Jon Bodhi, who is based in Kona, Hawaii. We loved each other’s art and decided to set up a shoot while I was visiting, which was seriously such a blessing!! While shooting in the desert all the time is so rad, it is SO nice to shoot in a completely different environment, especially the ocean! You guys know how much I love water and I was totally in my element being able to shoot in a swimsuit and embracing the ocean! Emily and Kyle are both Hawaiian transplants who have just fallen in love with the island- I mean who wouldn’t!? They are tying the knot on the beautiful island next year so of course they had to do their engagement photos on the beach. We did the session at a very secretive, local spot thanks to Jon! It was a secluded (and seriously gorgeous!!) black sand beach with jagged volcanic rock along the perimeter. It was on and off raining the entire session which gave us a bright rainbow in the background of so many pictures!! How freaking cool!? Emily and Kyle weren’t afraid to have a little fun in the water which was a DREAM!! They were so so much fun and I will seriously never forget this amazing session!! Now take me back to the beach asap!! Who is craving a trip to Hawaii now!?
