What is the best
time to visit and
elope in Arizona?

One thing about visiting and eloping in Arizona is that there is beautiful weather year-around, depending on the part of the state that you are in. There are huge elevation changes across the whole state (even up to 12k ft!) which drastically changes the temperatures depending on the area. Elevation also plays a huge role when it comes to the weather and can create a 30 degree difference from one part of Arizona to another. One of the perks about eloping in Arizona is that there are 300 sunny days a year Let’s chat about what eloping in Arizona could look like depending on each season.

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT EACH SEASON?

A Winter Arizona Elopement

november - february

go back

Winters in Colorado typically mean lots of
snow, but with a good amount of sunshine.
In the mountains you can expect large
amounts of snow with some mountain passes
being closed. Depending on the exact region,
highs can be in the 20s-30s and lows in the
single digits. This means that layers are
absolutely necessary and breaks to warm up
by the fireplace are welcomed!

Eloping in Colorado in the winter may be an
awesome idea if you love frozen lakes,
snowshoeing or skiing, or the solitude on trails
that are normally swarming with tourists in the
warmer months.

Winters in Arizona are probably different than the winters that you are used to if you're from out of state! Some parts of the state have highs in the 60s-70s, while other parts are snowy in the 30s! This means that you could have a comfortable desert elopement or be exploring in the snowy mountains! You may be lucky enough to experience a winter storm in the desert too, which is always an amazing sight to see!

A Spring Arizona Elopement

March-May

go back

Spring in Colorado doesn’t look like the typical
Spring in other parts of the country, and it’s highly
unpredictable. One day it may be warm without a
cloud in sight and the next there may be multiple
feet of snow on the ground, and then that snow
can be melted within 24 hours- it’s crazy! In some
places in Colorado, May is the snowiest month of
the year.

Temperatures do start to warm up and the
waterfalls may be flowing so it is still an incredible
time to elope in Colorado. Just be prepared for all
weather scenarios!

Spring in Arizona in an amazing time for adventuring in Arizona. The weather starts to warm up, the flowers and trees start to bloom, and the sun is out most of the time! You may experience a random spring shower, but in general you can expect sunny days with a bit of wind!

This is when there's a big uptick in tourism so be prepared for trails to get busier! Everyone wants to enjoy the beautiful weather!

A Summer Colorado Elopement

June-August

go back

Summer is by far the most popular time to visit and
elope in Colorado. Some mountains may still have
snow, but most of the state won’t get many more
snowstorms. Instead, you can expect almost daily
rainstorms, often referred to as monsoons. These
are typically short spurts of rain that come and go
quickly, so don’t be too worried about them!

We love summer elopement in Colorado because
the mountains are open for hiking, the wildflowers
come out, and it’s just absolutely gorgeous.

Summer is the least popular season for eloping in Arizona due to the extreme heat in the majority of the state. Most of the state has highs ranging from the 100s-115, and it's not very fun to adventure in! In the mountainous parts of the state you can enjoy highs in the 80s! Another important thing to note about Arizona summers are monsoons. These are almost daily rainstorms that include thunder, lightning, dust storms (haboobs)  and possibly even flash floods.

We only suggest a Summer elopement in Arizona if you're planning on being in the mountains!

A Fall Arizona Elopement

September-October

go back

Fall is a short, beautiful season in Colorado.
Temperatures and crowds of tourists start to
decrease a bit and you can find red and
golden groves of trees in the mountains. The
cooler temperatures also open the possibility
of snow, but not typically big snowstorms.

We love fall elopements in Colorado so
much- it’s the perfect combination of
adventure and coziness.
